Telsar Laboratories to Service SoftLight Lasers
SOFTLIGHT MEMORANDUM
Re: Carbon Based Lotion
The SoftLight laser system is designed for use with the carbon based
lotion. If you are not using this lotion on your clients, your clients
are not getting the effectiveness that they paid for in the treatments.
For hair removal, a lotion of carbon particles suspended in oil is
applied to the skin. The excess is then cleaned off the skin, while
the remaining carbon is left in the hair follicles. This gives the
skin the effect of small, black dots at each follicle site. There
is a slight residue (blackish/gray look) left on the skin surface.
The laser energy is applied to the skin in 3 passes. The first propels
particles into the follicle to the depth of 2-3mm up to hair matrix.
The carbon molecule is disintegrated as it absorbs the laser energy.
The pieces of the carbon molecule in the follicle then damage the
inside of the follicle, (either through heat or mechanical means)
(think of driving a golf ball down a sewer pipe) and stunt the growth
of future hair at this site for a significant amount of time. It is
not permanent. As the residue left on the skin absorbs the laser energy,
it disappears, thus showing where the laser has treated. Any hair
that is treated with the laser energy is bleached almost white and
denatured, becoming very limp and fine. The hair can then be shaved
or waxed.
Please note that if the carbon lotion is not used, the hair is bleached
and actually changes texture. It is, however, going to grow back right
away. Some of the sites are not using the carbon lotion. Under the
false belief that they are saving time or money by not using the lotion,
they will eventually lose their customer base. The client sees an
immediate change, but the regrowth will discourage repeat business.
