Tracking/Shielding Lotion FAQ

Can I use the shielding lotion with laser hair removal procedures?

Yes, this product was developed in conjunction with the SoftLight Q-switch yag laser for hair removal and skin resurfacing.

Can I use the tracking lotion with any laser?

We have found that any laser for hair removal, skin resurfacing, pigmentation protocols will benefit from the use of this lotion. Since the molecules actually absorb all wavelengths of light, it is effective with all lasers and IPL systems.

Tracking lotion and shielding lotion have the almost same function to relieve side effect such as burn and pains, but tracking has additional function to check which area was treated and is more suitable for the hair removal application. Is that right? What is the difference between the Tracking Lotion and the Shielding Lotion?

That is correct. The Tracking Lotion will “track” or “show” where the laser energy has already treated the area. The Shielding Lotion will also do this, in addition to absorbing a small amount of the laser energy or “attenuate” the laser energy. This will keep the energy from being absorbed by the specific sites.

According to our experience, some IPL systems need gel before treatment. Do you mean tracking lotion or shield lotion can replace it?

The gels that are applied are anesthetic lotions that block the pain generated by the laser. These lotions are NOT anesthetics. The gels will still be necessary.

If this lotion is used, can it produce any reflection?

There is no reflection since it absorbs the laser energy. There should be no increase in power necessary.
