What is the useful life of a medical laser system?

We have found that, like an exotic automobile, these lasers demand a certain amount of maintenance and attention each year.  Just as you would not expect a BMW to run for years without an oil change, neither should you expect your medical laser to operate without periodic checkouts of its power/energy levels, beam profile and other specific parameter checks during the year. By scheduling periodic maintenance throughout the year with our field service engineer or medical laser technicians, you can ensure that your investment in your medical laser will last a long time.

Emergency service calls are another very expensive aspect of owning any medical laser system.  Many times the laser was operating perfectly yesterday only to be “dead” today.  What happened?  Although many medical laser manufacturers would have you believe that the competition fails “all the time” while their model will last forever, the truth is that all medical laser systems will fail at some point in their life.  This is to be expected and with proper maintenance and planning, you can keep the costs to a minimum.  There is no mystery to laser service, maintenance or operation.  It is all physics... sometimes simple and sometimes complex.  Our staff of field service technicians and engineers will explain to your satisfaction any and all failures and operational problems encountered with your system.  If your current medical laser repair technician cannot or will not provide this information, you should seriously consider another medical laser field service company to take over this task.

Whether or not your medical laser system needs a field service visit can be easily determined by one of Telsar’s fully trained and certified medical laser field engineers.  Before arrival, we will have determined what the actual problem could be so that we can better prepare for the eventual on-site, field service response.  While there, our medical laser repair technician will inspect all operational parameters of your medical laser system and note any discrepancies on our medical laser field service call report.  When the malfunction has been determined, a repair will be approved by you or your staff.  When the repair has been made, the medical laser will then be tested to determine that the repair did indeed remove the problem.  When our medical laser repair, field service technician is satisfied that the repair is effective, we will then discuss the repair with you or your staff so that you will fully understand and accept our explanation.  Then and only then will you be asked to sign off on the field service report.
