Important Information On
Your Opthalmic Lasers

Dear Coherent Customer,

Coherent has a reputation for building lasers that last and last and last! We're known for the longevity of our products and for our skilled service organization that keeps these old lasers performing for our customers. However, even the best lasers eventually reach an age of 10 years or more, where parts become unavailable and service is no longer possible. Your laser* is in this category and I want to inform you we will be unable to renew your service contract or provide any service at all after December 2001.

With this understanding, I hope you will consider trading in your working Coherent laser for a new laser which will provide many state-of-the-art benefits. To encourage you to consider a new laser from Coherent, and to express our appreciation for your years of support as a Coherent customer, we are offering a special trade-in program to enable you to upgrade your older laser(s) to our latest technology. This is an opportunity to convert your annual service contract or your annual service expenses along with our trade-in allowance into a new laser. Furthermore, this is an opportunity to take advantage of the $24,000 tax credit available in 2001 under the section 179 deduction.
